NORTH LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
A North London symphony orchestra, performing concerts and open to amateur orchestral musicians. The orchestra has been part of Enfield's community for over fifty years. Read more Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our concert on 5 July due to government guidelines during the current coronavirus pandemic. The Orchestra is open to amateur musicians on all orchestral instruments. There is currently space for strings, brass and percussion. Weekly rehearsals are currently cancelled but would normally take place at St Andrew's Southgate. The Orchestra is a registered charity, funded by our members and ticket sales.
If you're thinking of joining us, it's best to get in touch beforehand, so that we can make sure that there's a set of music for you. We always have vacancies for string players and horns, and the approximate minimum standard is grade 6. We're usually covered for trumpets and timpani for concerts, but occasionally need deps. Depending on the music we're playing, we sometimes need larger brass instruments - trombones and tuba. An extra percussion player can also sometimes be useful. Our woodwind section is full, but we sometimes need deps and we can put you on our dep list or waiting list.
